So cute and provides years of play! October 23, 2008 Satisfied customer (Wisconsin, USA) I happened upon this dollhouse while shopping for my daughter's 3rd birthday, not knowing what to buy her, and I immediately fell in love with it. The store had it on display with several of the add-on furniture pieces inside the rooms, as well as with the family (mom, dad and twin babies-one in pink, one in blue), so it was easy to see the great quality and attention to detail that Fisher-Price put into this product! While admiring it, two other moms stopped too, and we all just kind of went bananas over it, oohing and aahing about how adorable it was and how much we would've LOVED to have something like it as little girls! It was pretty funny to see three grown women getting that excited about a toy...but that says something about its appeal and quality, I suppose! Most importantly, my daughter, who is about to turn 6, STILL loves and plays with this dollhouse quite often, so there's no question we MORE than got our money's worth with this toy. She has more furniture than will fit in each (small) room, but that has never bothered her one bit. It allows her to "rearrange" each of the rooms differently each time she plays with it. She has spent literally hours playing "pretend" with the house, both alone and with friends (and even me--I love it, too)! I like the fact that it's reasonably sized and can be easily made smaller by folding in the two sides for storage or travel. She has brought it along to Grandma and Grandpa's many times. Assembly is simple, quick, and straight-forward. The adult dolls' legs bend at the hips and knees, allowing them to sit on the furniture. Arms bend at the shoulder and elbow. Kids' legs/arms bend only at the hip/shoulder. African-American family available as well as white. The furniture is lovely, with adorable details like throw pillows, bows, pretty/modern fabrics, tiny blankets and toys for the babies, etc. Only downside I can think of: the flower boxes outside each of the windows fall off quite often, but could very easily be glued on if desired. My daughter truly could not care less about that, though, as they're on the outside of the house--not the inside, where it matters to her! Overall, this is a wonderful dollhouse for the money, and I would recommend it to anyone with little ones 3-6+. Have fun!!
great dollhouse, but don't pay $250 August 13, 2008 Coastie (SA, TX) My daughter plays with this dollhouse all the time. We have all the furniture and a couple of the cars. But please do not pay $250 for it, cruise by Toys R Us and you can still find this version or the newer version for less than $70. It's a wonderful learning toy and if you have two dollhouses they make for great interaction between neighbors. But shop around and don't over pay for it.
DD loves this dollhouse June 24, 2008 winnie (PA United States) This dollhouse was the hit of last year's Christmas. My DD has a ton of toys, this is the only toy that she will sit for hours and play with. Since we bought it for her at 4.3 years old, I have seen some positive improvement with her ability to tell stories and use her imagination. This house is not too over the top, you can choose basic furniture which does not beep/light up etc, or you can get the premium sets which are a little more interactive. So far we have filled the dollhouse with furniture and not regretted any purchase. Would be nice if it were just a teensy bit bigger, but then again it is nice that this folds down a bit for when I vacuum her rug. Has withstood 2 kids playing with it for hours each day, no broken/damaged parts so far. Overall, VERY happy. Be sure to shop around for a good price.
Survived our fire June 6, 2008 Jennifer Way (N. Augusta, SC USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Santa brought this dollhouse to our daughter for Christmas '07. In February of this year, our home caught fire and we lost everything. While cleaning & trying to find items to salvage, I came across this dollhouse. It was covered with ceiling debris, insulation and had been water-logged like most things in her room. Though the window panes, sheetrock and carpet in her room melted from the intense heat, that dollhouse was still completely intact. Once I washed it out, it didn't even have that lingering smell that comes from smoke damage. The colors are still bright and true, and it's as pretty as it was Christmas morning. The furniture and dolls however DID melt and now we are replacing one room set every other month. (Santa had to save 6 months to even buy the house and furnishings the 1st time.) Anyway, I have recommended this particular dollhouse and the furniture sets to many people. I feel they are well made and a good value for the money. Thanks!
The kids love this dollhouse May 12, 2008 D.Lutz (alberta ,ca) I run a dayhome for kids and since i got this for them, it has been an awesome hit!It has a place of honor and the kids are playing with it every day and rarely fight over it.The accessories are a bit expensive but for the kid's enjoyment,I haven't minded.I just can't get them all Two thumbs up!!!!
