Amazon.com Product Description
One might think that with all the clothing already packing Barbie's closet, she might not want for anything. But any girl with a fever for fashion knows that there is no such thing as too many shoes. Or too many accessories. Or too many cute tops.

The Fashion Fever Shopping Boutique allows girls to get their shop on and experiment with wardrobe combinations without having to go through the trials of dressing and undressing Barbie in the process.

The rotating pole lets you combine clothing for different outfits at the touch of a button. View larger. View card reader.
The Fashion Fever Shopping Boutique allows girls to get their shop on and experiment with wardrobe combinations without having to go through the trials of dressing and undressing Barbie in the process.

This playset's ingenious centerpiece is a pole in three rotating parts, and with four sides. So on the top tier of the pole, you can hang things like hats, sunglasses, and jewelry on each of the four spots. The middle tier is perfect for tanks, blouses, dresses, or jackets while the bottom tier can hold pants, skirts, and belts. Now here's the clever part. Once the pieces are hung, shoppers can rotate the individual tiers to see a multitude of style options. Love that scoop neck top, but just arenŐt sure what bottom it goes with? Hang it on the boutique pole with a skirt, a pair of shorts, and a pair of pants and see for yourself which works.

The Shopping Boutique Playset comes with three outfits, including shoes and sunglasses, and the rotating pole can hold up to 20 clothing and accessory pieces. Also included is a display stand that doubles as the cashier counter where you "buy" your clothes. Swipe the Fashion Fever credit card to "pay" and find out the remaining balance on your account. But don't fret. Once the balance hits zero, it will reset so you can continue to shop. Barbie dolls not included.

1 out of 5 stars Quite Possibly the Worst [Quality] Toy Ever   August 9, 2008
DaddyToyCritic (White Lake, MI)
This is quite possibly the worst quality toy ever. None of the parts fit correctly nor will they stay connected (without glue). Once you successfully get it together, don't dare touch it because it will all fall apart. Very few of the Barbie clothes will fit on the hangars (when you can get them to stay on thier respective hooks). My 4yo daughter was so excited when she opened this for Christmas. Daddy thought he had done good. 15 minutes later, she was in tears because she simply couldn't play with it without if falling apart. Simply a ripoff.

2 out of 5 stars More trouble than it's worth   January 30, 2008

I bought this for my daughter's 6th birthday. She and her 9 year old sister had been asking for it for quite a while. It is absolutely impossible for the 6 year old to set up and even the 9 year old needs help. The clothes don't fit well on their "hangers" and then they are nearly impossible to get into their slots. Once you spin the carousel they fall off. The credit card seems to be teaching them that if they spend all their money, they can just reload more. It's an endless supply of cash. If only the real world worked like that. I am normally a pretty big fan of Barbie toys, but not this one.

1 out of 5 stars Frustrating not Fun   December 31, 2007
T. Garwood
The concept is cute but the design is very flawed. It is a round cylinder sectoned into 3 parts: the head, the top, and the bottom. It is deigned to be a real life fashion plate (for those old enough to remember fashion plates). You mix and match the different pieces of an outfit by pushing down on a button at the top of the cylinder and the different sections rotate allowing you to make different outfits and see them together before putting them on the Barbie. It holds 4 (or 5 maybe) different manquin heads, torsos, and legs.

My 6 year old became so frustrated with the toy she quit playing it the same day she got it. The mannequin pieces the hold the clothes continually fall off. At first I thought it may be a user error on my child's part. After 5 minutes of me using it I agreed that it was frustrating that when you turn the round cylinder that holds the seperate pieces - they fall off. I even contemplated supergluing the mannequin forms down so they couldn't fall off but then it would make it very difficult to put the clothes on them.

This toy does not lend itself to independent play for a child. If you are buying this for a child under the age of 12 I do not recommend it.

3 out of 5 stars It's cute and a great concept, but keeps falling apart!   December 27, 2007

I got this for DD. I think it's a great idea (could care less about "teaching bad spending habits" she is 5 and it's pretend play).

Anyway, the thing keeps falling apart. It's not very sturdy. The top falls off and the pieces that hold the clothes fall off. I plan on trying some super glue to see if that helps.

My DD does like it and will like it better when it stays together.

All in all, ok toy if you get some super glue too! LOL
