3 out of 5 stars Not Fun For Over One!! Light Weight and Non-Locking   April 6, 2008
David Malanga (New York)
The blocks are made of weak plastic and do not lock togther. I purchased them so my two year old could build a big castle or towers as he does with smaller blocks. These do not lock together so the structure never stays up well. Also the limited tyoes of blocks in the package don't allow you to create anything much.

I gave these blocks to a friend who has a one year old. I believe younger children would benefit from them more but even they might become fustrated becuase the blocks don't go together unless you do it perfectly.

5 out of 5 stars Great set of blocks for the rug rats!   August 19, 2007
D. M. Castro
Bought three sets of these for my friends little ones and he just loves them and to be honest I have a grand time playing with them with the little guy too. Can build awesome walls to show the little guy how to break down with his head and or fist like he was the incredible hulk getting ready to invade france. They are light and flexible enough where you never really have to worry about injury when they are used as missiles. Overall they are a great toy for any little person and will give years worth of fun.

4 out of 5 stars Affordable Giant Blocks   June 7, 2007

I surveyed the giant blocks on the market before deciding on these. I had seen the giant soft Lego Dacta sets at a discovery museum and resort, but those were much too expensive for us. I decided on the Chicco blocks because of their size, quantity, and price. We ended up with three sets, enough blocks for my two boys to build large structures together. The blocks do not lock together tightly, though. The only way to bulid larger structures is to overlap the blocks, the way bricklayers build walls. It is very easy to knock over these structures; luckily, they are soft and fall safely. Before buying these for others, you should consider the clean-up and strorage these blocks require. They need a lot of room and the sign that children are done playing with them is that all the blocks are knocked down and cover the floor of the entire playroom (that is if you have more than one set). We do not bring them out every day because of the clean-up, but when we do, my boys have a lot of fun. They build lifesize animals they ride, giant ramps for vehicles and balls, kitchens and schools they play in. The blocks are great for what they are; the key to appreciating them is to not compare them against the Lego Dacta, which few families can afford.

5 out of 5 stars Fun for Little Ones!   April 15, 2007

While nothing beats wood blocks (in my opinon) we had these first, and they are fun! We like that they are flexible and easy for little hands to manipulate, and not painful if they fall on you! The only downside is that they are large, and storing them in the bag is like putting together a puzzle-they JUST fit. Storing them in a toy box fills the box with wasted space; so we stack them in 4 rows beside the toy box. It's worth the hassle if you have space for them and don't mind stacking them up and teaching your little one to.

I bought these for my 18-month old nephew. He enjoys them as do his 2 and 3 year old friends! They are easy to handle, colorful and store well.
