2 out of 5 stars Fun, but messy   November 3, 2008

Fun idea and not too hard to do, but end product doesn't work very well and the whole thing is pretty sticky/messy.

Did this for my daughters 8th birthday party and would NOT recommend it

4 out of 5 stars Lots of fun   September 7, 2008

Sure, it's a little sticky, but not too messy. My 5 year old and 3 year old had a blast mixing the clear soft balm with the different flavors. It's hard to find crafts that are fun and simple and appropriate for different ages without parent supervision and this one fits the bill. And today I am online to buy another kit. A neighbor girl and neighbor boy ( both 7) joined in and we used it all up! The kids must have spent a hour mixing different "potions". It's helpful to have a few extra mixing sticks and mixing containers on hand --medicine cups work well-- since the kit provides only one of each. BTW, I am a former toy designer and I give this toy the thumbs up.

4 out of 5 stars Quick n' Easy to make lip gloss   June 22, 2008

This make your own lip gloss kit is quick, easy to make, and it is almost impossible to mess up while making it. Plus, IT ACTUALLY WORKS!!! I got this for a 12th birthday gift, and it is sooooooo fun to use and make! I love it so much! If you are looking for a present for a girl who is turning 9,10,11,12, or, depending on the girl, even an 8 year old, this gift is highly recomended. TIP:Thirteen-year-olds like other make-ups and jewelery.

5 out of 5 stars Good Creative craft   May 27, 2008

I bought this for my 9 year old Granddaughter recently. She absolutely loved to make this lip balm. It came with little tins to hold the balm in and stickers to decorate the tins. It comes with three flavors (that are also coloring)and easy to follow instructions. After following one recipe, she decided to make her own flavor and turned out some really nice flavors and colors of balm which she shared with her sister.

I think this was a winner!

1 out of 5 stars messy disappointment   April 22, 2008
J. Sullivan (Peabody, MA)
I bought this kit for my daughter and her friends to use at her birthday party. What a mess it was. There were 5 girls, and the last 2 to take a turn with it didn't even bother with it. Not nearly as fun and neat as we thought it would be. A definite waste of money.
